Gen Bajwa told me not to call Fazlur Rehman ‘diesel’ – PM Imran Khan
Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Friday that General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has asked him not to refer to JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman as “diesel.”
The prime minister told a public gathering in Lower Dir that he told Gen Bajwa that he is not calling Fazl “diesel,” but that the public has given him that name.
“General Bajwa requested that I refrain from referring to Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman as ‘diesel.'” The prime minister stated, “I told him people are saying this, not me.”
“I want to send the message that when a person bows down in front of someone, they lose their dignity, and when a nation bows down in front of someone, no one respects the country or its passport,” the prime minister said.
The Prime Minister told the raucous crowd that he has focused on three goals since entering politics: making our country self-sufficient, creating a welfare state, and ensuring law and order. “These three principles were adopted from Riasat-e-Madina and were part of PTI’s manifesto,” he said.
PM Imran said the leaders of the JUI-F, PPP, and PML-N who have joined forces against him are among those who have ruled the county for the past 30-35 years.
On the occasion, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Federal Minister Murad Saeed, and Chief Minister of KP Mahmood Khan spoke.
