TikToker Humaira Asghar Backlash after Video Gone Viral on Twitter, Reddit

Humaira Asghara, a popular Pakistani social media star and TikToker, has released a new video detailing the story of the man who allegedly set bushes on fire.

Humaira Asghar, a popular Pakistani social media star and TikToker who received backlash for posing in front of a burning forest, has released another video statement explaining her position. People were not “aware of the reality,” she said, and she was not happy with the “fake” claim that she started the fire. Humaira had previously stated in a team statement that she did not start the fire and that “creating videos is not harmful.”

She appears in the new video wearing the same silver ball gown, with a fire burning in the background and a man standing next to her. “Dekhiye ladkiye ladkiye ladkiye ladkiye ladkiye ladkiye ladkiye ladkiye ladkiye ladkiy “Inse poocha hai, kya keh rahe hain, bataiye,” she says. (Look, guys, we came here and the jungle was on fire, so we asked him and he said this.)

The man then goes on to say that he was the one who set fire to the bushes in order to scare away the huge snak*es that live there. He claimed that the snak*es were endangering their children’s lives, so they used fire to scare them away. “Isliye ye aag lagaya humne kyunki bade bade saanp niklate hain,” he says. “Baccchon ko khatra hota hai.”

What had sparked the debate?

TikToker Humaira Asghar was seen walking around in a gown in front of a burning hillside with the caption “Fire erupts wherever I am” in a 15-second video that went viral on the internet. People on the internet were visibly fuming over the violation of environmental norms after the video of the forest fire surfaced.

The chairperson of the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board said the actor should have been holding a bucket of water to extinguish the fire instead of glamourizing it, calling the trend disturbing and disastrous. “Rather than glamorizing the fire, she should have been holding a bucket of water,” says Rina Saeed Khan Satti, an environmental activist and chairperson of the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board, as quoted by Daily Pakistan.
