Bollywood Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan is prepping for his upcoming film ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’– an official remake Hollywood film Forrest Gump – will feature the highly-controversial 1992 demolition of Babri Masjid. Not only this, Aamir’s film will also show the formation of the Modi government in India if the report is to be believed.

According to the Deccan Chronicle, the film will portray India’s national growth in the last couple of years on the big screens. It will feature the highly-controversial 1992 demolition of Babri Masjid- a mosque located in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. “Lal Singh Chaddha is not just a film. It will be a reference for the world to see what happened in India in the past few years like how the Paramount film Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks, did with reference to the US,” an industry source told the website.

Lal Singh Chaddha is an adaptation of Hanks-starrer 1994 released film Forrest Gump, which was directed by Robert Zemeckis. In the Hollywood film, the protagonist witnesses several national happenings of the 20th century in the US. Directed by Advait Chandan, Aamir Khan’s film will also star Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead role.

Lal Singh Chaddha is scheduled to hit the screens in 2020.
