Aleem Khan is on his way to meet Jahangir Tareen in London
In the midst of the country’s rapidly changing political situation, former Punjab minister Aleem Khan has left for London to meet with estranged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen.
Aleem Khan, who joined the Tareen group on Monday, will discuss the political situation in Punjab and the strategy to oust incumbent Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
Meanwhile, the Jahangir Tareen group formally decided on Tuesday that Usman Buzdar is not acceptable.
After the meeting, a member of the Tareen group, Nauman Langrial, spoke to the media and said, “We have given Jahangir Tareen the authority to make all decisions.” He also stated that they have been in contact with various parties.
Meanwhile, several senior leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had backed the removal of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
According to sources familiar with the situation, key federal ministers such as Pervez Khattak and Asad Umar, as well as Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, have endorsed the proposal.
However, the Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting is the most vocal supporter of removing the province’s current chief minister.
