On thursday Noor Ahmed, the Economic Affairs Division Secretary and German Development Bank (KfW) Country Director, Wolfgang Moeller signed financing deals for the Social Health Protection Phase II. of the Social Health Protection in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The financial contribution shall be used exclusively for the development of social health protection schemes in the two provinces to provide quality health care services, in this regard financing agreements were signed here by Economic Affairs Division Secretary Noor Ahmed and Wolfgang Moeller Country Director of German Development Bank (KfW).
Under the agreements, the KfW will provide grant assistance worth €2.6 million for Gilgit-Baltistan and €9.4 million for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Muhammad Hammad Azhar.
Addressing on the occasion, the Noor Ahmed thanked the German government for the grant assistance, which, he said would be helpful in redressing critical health related issues in far flung regions of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
He lauded the initiative saying that it will positively impact the lives of the common man.
The minister also said that the government appreciated the German government’s investment in such programs and hoped to further strengthen its cooperation in the upcoming government-to-government (G2G) negotiations to be held in Berlin.
