Gujranwala Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Saleem Chohan on Friday (August 2) summoned Senator Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo on August 8 over his allegation against Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt Gen. Faiz Hameed that he is behind the shocking defeat of the no-confidence motion in the senate.
DG ISPR Dismisses Hasil Bizenjo’s Allegations
The losing candidate Hasil Bizenjo’s allegations came after the vote concluded. He was hounded by reporters as he left the Senate hall. Responding to a question asking him to name who was responsible for the shocking defeat handed out to the Senate opposition, he answered “Gen Faiz’s people are behind this.”
While accepting a petition filed by Advocate Manzoor Qadir Bhinder for hearing, Judge Chohan summoned a report on the matter from the city police officer (CPO).
The petition states that Bizenjo accused the ISI chief of compelling 14 senators to abstain from voting against the Senate chairman in the no-confidence motion. “The senator’s speech has hurt the sentiments/feelings of Pakistanis and the Pakistan Army as well as spread anti-state propaganda which is violation of the Constitution of Pakistan,” it added. The Constitution of Pakistan prohibits from speaking against the Pakistan Armed Forces and national institutions.

Hasil Bizenjo Alleges DG ISI of Hijacking Senate Polls
Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani will retain the chairmanship of senate as the vote of no confidence against him failed to get the required majority. Sanjrani got 44 votes while the 50 votes were cast for no confidence motion moved by the united opposition. 5 votes were rejected. The opposition was needed 53 votes to remove Sanjrani. But it failed to get enough votes.
