Game of Thrones reached its end this year as season 8 marked the last time we would see our favorite characters like Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. We finally found what happens to these people, who we have come to know and love, over a decade.
However, season 8 was met with mostly major backlash for the writing treatment and character arcs. It got so much worse that a petition with almost 1.3 million signatures was signed demanding the makers to reshoot season 8 with a better ending. At the recently held HBO’s TCA Summer Press Tour event, HBO’s programming chief, Casey Bloys was asked about the petition signed by GOT fans.
“There are very, very few downsides to having a hugely popular show, but one I can think of is when you try to end it, many people have big opinions on how it should end. The petition shows a lot of enthusiasm and passion for the show, but it wasn’t something that we seriously considered,” Casey stated.
Meanwhile, GOT has been nominated for 32 Emmy awards and hence, they might not be too worried about the petition!
