After the arrest of bigwigs of politics including former President Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Hamza Shehbaz, Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to constitute a high powered commission to probe the wealth stolen from Pakistan since last ten years. In a nationwide address, he said the commission will include representatives of FIA, IB, ISI, FBR and SECP. “We will find out through the inquiry commission how foreign debts of the country mounted to Rs24,000 billion.”

While taking people into confidence regarding ongoing political situation of the country, he explained how the two former governments had been involved in corruption and burdened the country with huge foreign loans. Meanwhile he made it clear that “We did not appoint the NAB chairman; Nawaz league and PPP appointed him,” he said, adding, “I did not form cases against opposition [members].”

Khan noted the mega money laundering case against Asif Ali Zardari was registered by the PML-N, adding that the opposition wanted an NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance). “Today hue and cry is being raised that Zardari is in jail, and Nawaz league and PPP have come together,” he lamented.

The Prime Minister reiterated that he would not give NRO to corrupt and plunderers as in the past two NROs had already caused huge damage to the country under which they were still reeling. He regretted that a ruckus had been created inside parliament by the opposition parties and warned that he would not bow before their blackmailing and pressure.
