Eighth death anniversary of Pakistan television’s renowned actor, director, producer, singer, writer and comedian Moin Akhtar is being observed today (April 22).
He started his acting career as stage actor at the age 16 years. Akhter acted in several films, sitcoms and dramas, and hosted many TV talk shows in his career. He became a worldwide icon through his screen persona “Rosy” and is considered one of the most important figures in the history of the film industry of the sub continent.
Internationally acclaimed and one of the best comedian country has ever produced, Moin Akhtar was a recipient of the highest civil honours a government and a country could confer on a person. He received the Pride of Performance and Sitara-e-Imtiaz besides undying love of millions of his fans and admirers, living all over the world. He died on 22 April 2011.
