The first-ever government-built ‘Wall of Kindness’ in Rawalpindi is losing its spirit as majority of the empty walls are waiting for generous donors. The wall, built by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), remains concealed behind a grill gate even though it was completed four months ago. The underprivileged are still waiting for its locks to open.

The concept, first picked by a group of Rawalpindi’s youth in 2016 earned a lot of appreciation and adopted by every major city of the country, is dying with the short span of time and requires to be revitalized in harsh winter season to provide comfort to the needy. People can leave items on the wall, including clothes and other items which they may not need but can still be of help to someone else who may need it more.

Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Arif Ali Abbasi while responding to a question regarding wall of kindness he said that wanted the underprivileged to receive items of their need with the help of philanthropists. He also encouraged people to come forward to help those in need.
